
Madam Bouchra Hajij, President of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB), chaired the meeting of the Legal Commission of the governing body of African volleyball on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco.
During this hybrid meeting, she emphasized the crucial role of this commission in ensuring the proper functioning of the CAVB.
« Your role within this commission is essential, and your presence reaffirms our commitment to good governance in African volleyball, » stated Madam Bouchra Hajij.
She commended the efforts made in finalizing the key legal documents of the CAVB, including the statutes, general regulations, congress regulations, and competition regulations.
« We are striving to align all legal texts with FIVB standards while ensuring their compliance with ethical and legal norms, » affirmed the CAVB President.
The commission will also be responsible for supporting national federations and strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms within the African volleyball community.
Madam. Bouchra Hajij urged the commission to remain proactive, reiterating that its role is fundamental to the proper functioning of the CAVB.
Mr. Mooffie Kanneh, President of the Commission, acknowledged the significance of the body he leads, describing it as « the most important within the CAVB. » He assured the President that all commission members are fully committed to working for the benefit of African volleyball.
« Our commission is responsible for handling the legal matters of the CAVB. We have the expertise required to provide solutions to legal issues, » he stated.
He reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to ensuring that the statutes and regulations of the CAVB are fully aligned with those of the FIVB.
« We will align our statutes and regulations with those of the FIVB. It is also essential that the statutes and constitutions of national federations comply with those of the CAVB and the FIVB, » explained Mr. Mooffie Kanneh.
Finally, he assured that the commission would ensure that any conflict is resolved based on the expertise available within its ranks.
