The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Mr. Musa Nimrod, has delivered a heartfelt message of appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the 2025 edition of the African Women’s Club Championship, which was excellently hosted in Abuja by the Nigeria Customs Service.
On behalf of the NVBF Board of Administration and the entire Nigerian volleyball community, he extended his profound gratitude to all the participating teams from across the African continent for their commitment, trust, and competitive spirit.
A special acknowledgment was addressed to Her Excellency, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who served as the Grand Patron of the championship. Her inspiring presence and unwavering support left a lasting impression. Her maternal role and solidarity with young women across Africa were key to the success of the event.
The NVBF also saluted the commitment of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Bashir Adeniyi, for accepting to host the competition. His support, seen as a service to Nigerian youth and sports, leaves behind a legacy the nation can be proud of.
President Nimrod also expressed sincere appreciation to the President of the CAVB, Madam Bouchra Hajij, for the trust she placed in the NVBF and her continued support, which contributed significantly to making this championship a source of national pride for Nigeria.
His message also extended to other prominent figures in African sports, including Engineer Habu Gumel, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, as well as the presidents of various national federations and the President of CAVB Zone 3, all of whom showed exemplary solidarity throughout the organization of the event.
Mr. Nimrod also highlighted the vital contribution of the National Sports Commission and its Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, alongside Director General Mr. Dipola Olapade, for their technical and institutional support.
Lastly, he thanked the clubs from across the continent, the fans who were physically present in Abuja, and the many volleyball enthusiasts in Nigeria who created a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the competition.
“Volleyball Excellence remains our priority, and we firmly believe that together, we can achieve great things,” Mr. Musa Nimrod concluded, calling for the continuation of the momentum to further develop volleyball in Nigeria and across Africa.
