The Zone V Club Championship of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) is shaping up to be a record-breaking event, with an exceptional participation of over 20 teams from the 12 member countries of Zone V. This highly anticipated competition will take place in Kampala, Uganda.
This championship marks the first major volleyball tournament organized in Kampala since Sadik Nasiwu was elected as President of CAVB Zone V and the Uganda Volleyball Federation in November 2024.
During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Uganda Olympic Committee, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) reassured teams and volleyball fans about the quality of the organization and the facilities available for the tournament.
Sadik Nasiwu, President of CAVB Zone V, expressed confidence in Uganda’s ability to host a top-tier tournament:
« We are delighted to welcome the best teams in the region. This championship is a unique opportunity to showcase the talent of African volleyball and to boost its development within Zone V. »
Meanwhile, Joseph Odong, President of the LOC, highlighted the meticulous preparations made by the host country and expressed his gratitude to the Ugandan government and the National Council of Sports (NCS) for their unwavering support.
