
The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has just announced the list of referees who will represent the African continent at the international events organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in 2025. A total of sixteen African officials have been selected to officiate at world championships in various age categories, highlighting the growing recognition of African referees’ professionalism and expertise on the global stage.
Referees Appointed by Category
Woman 21 World Championship
Three female referees have been selected to officiate in this category:
- Marthe (Cameroon)
- Taghreed (Egypt)
- Hayfa (Tunisia)
- Fadili ALI and Waleed Adelsamad : Referee Coach.
Girls’ U19 World Championship
In the U19 category, four referees will represent the continent:
- Kahiya (Algeria)
- Mashasha (Zimbabwe)
- Amany (Egypt)
- Selthar (Botswana )
Boys’ U19 World Championship
Four referees have been appointed to officiate in the boys’ U19 category:
- Kouki (Tunisia)
- Benjaloun (Morocco)
- Nagla (Egypt)
- Alphonse (Rwanda)
Men’s U21 World Championship
For the U21 category, three referees have been selected:
- Bouzidi (Algeria)
- William (Cameroon)
- Komakech (Uganda)
In addition to the on-field referees, Waleed Abdssamad has been appointed as a referee coach. He will play a crucial role in mentoring and evaluating officials during the Men’s U21 competition in China and the Women’s U21 competition in Indonesia.
This appointment of thirteen African referees and a coach reflects CAVB’s commitment to promoting refereeing excellence at the highest international level. It also provides these officials with a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and contribute to the development of volleyball both on the continent and globally.
