The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has officially launched the qualification process for the 2025 Continental Beach Volleyball Cup, in alignment with the qualification system established by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) for the 2025 World Championships. This system, published online on the FIVB website, outlines athlete eligibility criteria, key deadlines, and the standardized form to be used by Confederations during the qualification phases.
A Structured and Inclusive Procedure
To ensure a well-organized process and anticipate the final format of the competition, the CAVB invites all interested National Federations (NFs) to register their men’s and women’s teams. Registrations must be submitted via email using the official forms, duly completed and signed by the presidents and secretaries general of the respective federations, no later than May 3, 2025.
The submitted documents must include:
• The official registration form
• A provisional list of athletes (also referred to as the “long list”) for both genders
This requirement aims to facilitate effective planning and ensure that the total number of participating teams is determined in advance.
Quotas and Draw for the Host Country
For the continental phase, each Federation may register up to two teams per gender, while the host country will be granted an expanded quota of up to three teams per gender. The final two teams will be selected by a draw from the names submitted on the previously provided long list.
A Collaborative Organization with Federations
The CAVB is currently in consultation with several national federations to determine the date and venue of the continental competition, which will be officially announced once confirmed. This planning process respects the timelines set by the FIVB, thereby ensuring optimal coordination.
A Commitment to Rigour and Transparency
The CAVB emphasizes that no changes to team composition will be permitted after the preliminary inquiry has been validated. This requirement is designed to uphold the integrity of the process and ensure fairness among participating nations.
