TGV left its mark on the tournament by claiming victory in both the men’s and women’s finals, held at the Pandit Sahadeo Gymnasium in Mauritius.
Men’s Final: TGV Overpowers GDN in an Intense Battle
In the men’s category, the final pitted Gendarmerie Nationale Volleyball (GDN) of Madagascar against Tampon Gecko Volley Club Sportif (TGV) of Réunion. The highly contested match kept the spectators at the Pandit Sahadeo Gymnasium on the edge of their seats.
TGV set the pace from the start, taking the first set 25-19. However, GDN fought back fiercely, securing the second set 25-23, demonstrating their determination. Despite this challenge, the Réunion-based club raised their level of play at the crucial moment, clinching the third and fourth sets 25-22 and 25-23.
With this 3-1 victory, Tampon Gecko Volley Club Sportif asserted itself as the dominant team of the tournament, further solidifying its status as a powerhouse in the region.

Women’s Final: TGV Secures a Decisive Victory Over SDO
In the women’s final, Tampon Gecko Volley Club Sportif (TGV) faced another club from Réunion, Saint-Denis Olympique Volleyball (SDO). This 100% Réunionese showdown was expected to be a close contest, but TGV proved unstoppable, winning in straight sets (3-0).
The TGV women’s team displayed remarkable control throughout the match. They took the first set 25-23, then widened the gap in the following sets, winning 25-19 and 25-18, securing an indisputable victory.
This triumph carried a special significance as it coincided with International Women’s Rights Day, where the final was officiated by top-level female referees, highlighting the commitment and excellence of women in volleyball. It was a fitting tribute to their essential role in the development and promotion of the sport.
