In a nail-biting clash that stretched close to two hours, Fath Union Sport (FUS) of Morocco narrowly defeated Nemostars Volleyball Club of Uganda in a gripping five-set encounter (3–2: 25-20, 24-26, 20-25, 25-17, 15-8), as part of the group stage of the 46th edition of the African Men’s Volleyball Club Championship.
A high-intensity match decided in the tie-break
The Moroccans took control early, winning the first set 25–20 in 29 minutes with confident and well-organized play. However, the Ugandans showed great resilience, bouncing back in the second set with a narrow 26–24 victory after a tense 33-minute battle.
Riding the momentum, Nemostars claimed the third set 25–20 in just 21 minutes, taking a 2-1 lead and putting pressure on the North African side.
But Fath Union Sport rose to the occasion in the fourth set, dominating with a renewed energy to level the match with a 25–17 win (20 minutes). In the decisive fifth set, the Moroccan side kept their composure and closed out the match with a convincing 15–8 win in 13 minutes.
